Forte 600: LDMOS HF+50m Linear Amplifier

A 600 W Linear amplifier using MRF300 transistors. This project includes not only the RF deck but also set of LPFs, controller, TX/RX board as well as mechanical aspects.

Rhapsody SDR Transceiver

This project aims to develop modular SDR amateur radio transceiver. Heart of the project is the zero-IF SDR trx based on STM32 microcontroller and tayloe IQ mixer. Because of modularity additional modules could added such as hardware IF or band pass filters for improved selectivity, transverters for adding VHF/UHF bands, preamplifiers, improved mixers for better linearity and sensitivity etc. Think of base station trx designed as good old PC computer, you can buy it in basic form and upgrade it later on.

Presto QO-100 Transverter

What happens when you let an engineer design an HF to S band upconverter withouth specifying the budget but requesting the highest quality signal possible with analog signal path? Presto is the answear, no compromise transverter for amateur radio operation over QO-100 satelitte using 10 m transceiver as a signal source and optional receiver.

S.O.N.A.T.A. Vacuum Tube Tester and Analyzer

Switching Oriented Numerical Automated Tube Analyzer is my open source project of a modern tube tester/ analyzer that can plot characteristics on PC. It is based on modern 32 bit microcontroller with 10 bit ADC and uses switching mode power supplies so it does not require dangerous transformer with high voltage taps.

SONATA tube tester

High voltage current sensing

This is a small sub-project related to the SONATA tube tester. This circuit is capable of direct current measurement in two ranges for input voltage from 55 V to 300 V.

Collection of passive RF microstrip designs

I present results of my microstrip projects that I was able to make 100% at home, including the fabrication of the PCBs. Forget about lumped elements; here, everything is distributed. The designs span from 1.25 GHz to 2.4 GHz.

Design of a discrete 433 MHz amplifier using BFR92 BJT

Simplified overview of design process for a small signal 433 MHz amplifier with 17 dB gain and excellent return loss.

Digitally controlled AM Signal Generator

Single PCB signal generator with AD9833 DDS and MC1496 balanced modulator. Whole device is controlled by AT328p running Arduno code. Great low cost tool for fixing and tuning old AM radios as well for eduction.

20M Band SSB Transmitter: Adagio 20

This is a simple SSB transmitter that uses filter method. I have never brought this transmitter on the air, however I have preceisly meassured every part of it as my engineering thesis.

Virtual Theatre Organ MIDI Stops Controller

This device is a MIDI controller that can scan stops from a pipe organ and send MIDI commands to a computer running virtual organ software like Miditizer or Hauptwerk.

VHF/UHF Local oscillator module based on ADF4351 for driving high IP3 mixers

This PLL module provides low phase noise signal with power higher than 16 dBm in range from 100 MHz to 2.4 GHz. Design frequency focused on the spectrum from 400 MHz to 12 GHz where 20 dBm was achieved.

EC Fan Controller

Speed controller for a electronic commutator (EC) type of motor.

Johnny 5: Robot That Avoids Obstacles Using FreeRTOS

Miniature of a robot from Short Circuit movies. This time nr. 5 is alive due to an open source real time operating system on STM32.

Superheterodyne Radio Using Vacuum Tubes

1920s themed home made radio using 1950s scrap parts. I have also made more sucesfull heterodyne on a metal chassis. Both are presented on my YT channel.

2.4GHz PA

I am designing a 2.4 GHz power amplifier from scratch. Wish me luck...

My QO-100 Satelite dish

Satelite dish

My 120 cm prime focus dish. For now in the feed I have the Bullseye LNB. Thanks to my home made bias Tee and polarization controller I can receive the QO-100 satelite just fine on the RTL-SDR. Now I am working on upconverter and 2.4 GHz PA for the uplink.
